2008 Letters of Intent

In order for write-in presidential candidates to have a chance in the 2008 election, they must submit a letters of intent in each state where they would like their votes to count. Generally, write-in candidates must file letters of intent with the election board of each state approximately two months before the general election. Some states even post the names of potential write-in candidates at polling places.
